Blank Park Zoo Trip is Tuesday!!!  Make sure your child is wearing comfortable shoes, we will be doing lots of walking!  Sunscreen protection is also suggested.  If you are driving down and plan to attend, you will need to pay $9.00 as soon as you get to the park.  I will remind any and all adults again at the park.  You will have time to do this while we are eating our lunch.

If you see a Belmond Community Service Woman or their organization with a booth at the 4th of July celebration, please support them.  They paid for your child’s admission to the Blank Park Zoo.  They also cover other grade level field trips.  Thank you again to the BCSW.

Our class picnic will be Tuesday, May 30th.  Your child will need to pack their own sack lunch.  We will be walking to the City Park, so comfortable shoes are a necessity!!!

If you have any questions or concerns, please call, send a note/email, or stop by.

This will be the final newsletter for this school year.  It has been a pleasure teaching your son/daughter and working with each family.  I am delighted with the progress of each child during their first grade school year.  Please remember to read during the summer, take part in the Public Library Reading Program.  Have a safe and wonderful summer!!!

The Blank Park Zoo Trip will be Tuesday, May 23th.  If anyone is interested in driving down and meeting us at the zoo, the cost for admission is $9.00, which will need to paid to me by Friday, May 19th.   Students will have a sack lunch provided from the school.  The school will deduct this from their lunch account.  We eat as soon as we get to the zoo, so you will have to pack a sack lunch for yourself if you decide to drive down.  If you are interested in meeting us at the zoo and would be willing to chaperone a small group of students, please let me know by Friday, May 19th, so I can divide the students into smaller groups.
We are finished with sharing for the school year.  Thank you for your support and making sure your child was prepared each week.

If you have any questions or concerns, please call, send a note/e-mail, or stop by.

The Kindergarten and First Grade classes will be attending the play, “The Boy Who Cried Wolf”, at CY Stevens Auditorium on Tuesday, April 11th.  The kitchen is packing lunches for all of the students, so we do not need to worry about lunch bags, and their accounts will be charged accordingly.  We will leave school at 8:30 and we should return around 12:30.  Please make sure your child is on time that day.

Sharing for this week is solid shapes.  Go on a scavenger hunt around your house.  Look for a solid object that is either a cube, cylinder, cone, sphere, or rectangular prism.  Give us clues to help us guess what you have brought.  Make sure you hide your object, so we can guess what it is.  Use your knowledge of attributes to describe the three-dimensional shape.

If you have any questions or concerns, please call, send a note/e-mail, or stop by.
