Learning Targets:
Teachers can discuss in depth the shift in Literacy and Math that have driven the Common Core State Standards.

Teachers can articulate key learning targets needed for students to succeed in their class as well as prepare for learning the following year.

Iowa Teaching Standards:
1B-Implement strategies for supporting student, building, and district goals.
1F-Participates in and contributes to a school culture that focuses on improved student learning.
2A-Understands and uses key concepts, themes, etc. in the content area.
2B-Uses knowledge of student development to make learning meaningful and accessible.
3A-Uses student data and the district curriculum in planning instruction.
3B-Uses student's developmental needs, backgrounds, and interests in planning instruction.
4A-Aligns classroom instruction with district curriculum.

4D-Engages students in varied experiences that meet diverse needs and promote academic growth.
5F-Works with other staff and building and district leadership in analysis of student progress.
7A-E-Engages in professional growth.
7B-Works collaboratively to improve professional practice and student learning.
8C-Contributes to efforts to achieve district goals.

Professional Development Agendas:
November 2nd:

1:30-2:30: K-12 Reading Team Meeting in the elementary cafeteria.  Feel free to bring a computer/text if it will help you access key literacy curriculum, but it is not required for participation.  You must participate if you are a general ed. reading teacher and/or have utilized the K-12 Reading IPDP, any person after that is welcome to listen in.

2:45-3:45: K-12 Math Team Meeting in the elementary cafeteria.  Feel free to bring a computer/text if it will help you access key math curriculum, but it is not required for participation.  You must participate if you are a general ed. math teacher and/or have utilized the K-12 Math IPDP, any person after that is welcome to listen in.


JR/SR HIGH SCHOOL: Please see your AIW Team Lead to determine what time slot you will meet to complete an AIW scoring session (opposite the reading or opposite the math team meetings).

If none of the above options apply to your current position, you will be spending the time period updating curriculum manager and the virtual data wall.

November 16:
From 1:30-2:30 the Jr/Sr High will have a make-up AIW scoring session that was scheduled for Nov. 2nd in their AIW groups. Meanwhile, the Elementary staff will meet in the Jacobson library with Mrs. Keehn for a staff meeting.

At 2:30, we will congregate in the Jacobson lunch room for a staff pot luck of snacks, relaxation, time to visit, etc.  Mrs. Nelson has volunteered to host a small painting project out of her classroom, but we must have a count of teachers interested in this by the end of the day on Monday, Nov. 14th. Also, we will have some activities (board games, card games, reflection activity etc) available if you would like. Please feel free to bring a snack or dessert to share. We will provide punch. Thanks!

Teachers will understand the DE purpose behind MTSS and interventions.
Teachers will discuss obstacles to and uses of MTSS.
Iowa Teaching Standards:
1B-Implement strategies for supporting student, building, and district goals.
1F-Participates in and contributes to a school culture that focuses on improved student learning.
4C-Demonstrates flexibility and responsiveness in adjusting instruction to meet student needs.
5F-Works with other staff and building and district leadership in analysis of student progress.
7A-E-Engages in professional growth.

Wednesday, October 12th:

K-12 Staff Meet in the Auditorium from 1:30-2:15 for MTSS: Purpose behind the Practice led by Callie Stein
Elem:
2:15-3:45 Meet in Your PLC's (mixed grade groups) and complete the 10/12 Collaboration Log and SUBMIT AS AN ASSIGNMENT in the Google Classroom.  If time allows, please work individually on updating the virtual data wall with any available data (FAST test results/interventions, SRI, Midterm grades...if your data wall has that...etc.).
 
High School:
2:15-2:45 Meet in the Auditorium to review 504 plans and discuss strategies beyond the plan, blogging and "I Can" statements led by Greg Fisher
 
2:45-3:45 Meet in AIW groups for an AIW scoring session and complete the 10/12 Collaboration Log and SUBMIT AS AN ASSIGNMENT in the Google Classroom.  If time allows, please work individually on updating the virtual data wall with any available data (MAP, beyond 5 days, 504, D/F list, etc.).
 
Wednesday, October 19th:
Elem:
1:30-3:00 Fill in the Virtual Data Wall within your Data Teams with any available data and complete Data Analysis Protocols for any assessments complete (1 for FAST, 1 for ???, etc.) within the Google Classroom.
 
3:00-3:45 Meet in Cafeteria to discuss assessment and assessment tallies from the last month.
 
High School:
1:30-2:00 Fill in the Virtual Data Wall with any available data you may have (504, MAP test, ACTs, etc.) while AIW Team Leads have a Q&A with Marcia Knupp, AEA Lead in AIW.
 
2:00-3:00 Fishbowl an Instructional Scoring in the LMC facilitated by Marcia Knupp.
 
3:00-3:45 AIW scoring session in AIW groups as usual with Marcia Knupp observing.
