Mrs. Barb Soma
 
Mrs. Barb Soma graduated from Iowa State University with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education and a Reading Endorsement. She taught 2nd grade for four years and was the 7th-12th grade cheerleading coach for the Belmond School District. For ten years while her children were young, she was a substitute teacher for the Belmond-Klemme School District. Mrs. Soma returned to full-time teaching as the K-8 Gifted Education Coordinator/Instructor for the Belmond-Klemme School District. After three years, she earned her K-12 Gifted Education Endorsement and was assigned as the K-12 Gifted Education Coordinator/Instructor.  In August 2016 will be the start of her twentieth year as the K-12 Gifted Education Coordinator/Instructor for the Belmond-Klemme School District. She also is a sponsor for the National Honor Society and the eighth grade class, as well as a coach for the Jr. High Robotics Team.

Mrs. Soma lives in Belmond with her husband, Steve. She has a son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter who live in Urbandale, IA and a daughter and son-in-law who live in Eldridge, IA.
