There are order forms in the office for track t-shirts, sweatshirts, and sweatpants.

The order forms and money are due back in the office by Monday, April 4th.

Reminder:  All Trap team members need to have their paper work turned into Mrs. Barkela ASAP.  

The speech team is leaving for UNI Monday at 6:15.  Please remember money for lunch. 

Hawkeye Community College will be here on Wednesday, April 6th @ 9:00.  If you would like to visit with the college rep.please see Mrs. Kozisek ahead of time for a pass.

Open gym on Sunday, April 3rd, will be at Jacobson Elementary from 4 - 6 pm. 
The Promenade list has been posted outside of the office and Mrs. Blomme's room.
Please check the spelling of your names and notice that this is also the line up for Prom.


Pennies for Patients is still going on this week. Thursday and Friday are the last days to donate! Please help out and bring change to put in your 3rd period class box! So far the high school is doing very poorly against the elementary. Remember every penny counts!

There are Belmond-Klemme t-shirt order forms in the office if you would like one.The money raised will go towards the trap team. 

Buena Vista will be here April 12th. If you are interested in talking to this representative, please see Mrs. Kozisek for a pass.

Reminder to all FFA members:  Officer Applications are due this Friday.  Please turn them into Mrs. Barkela 

All juniors and seniors going to prom.... Remember your reservations are due March 30th. Please turn those in to Mrs. Blomme or in the box in the office.  

All speech students who are going to the All-State Speech Festival on Monday, April 4th, need to see Mrs. Bock to pick up a pink slip and parent letter by tomorrow.

Ellsworth Community college will be here March 30th and Buena Vista will be here April 12th. If you are interested in talking to either representative, please see Mrs. Kozisek for a pass

All juniors and seniors going to prom.... Remember your reservations are due March 30th when we get back from spring break. Please turn those in to Mrs. Blomme or in the box in the office.  

 

Attention all LARGE GROUP and INDIVIDUAL EVENTS speech team members: We are going to the All-State Speech Festival on Monday, April 4th. If you are interested in going, see Mrs. Bock to sign up and pick up a parent letter.

The spring Blood Drive is Monday, March 28th, starting at 12:00 and running until 5:30. If you are interested in donating please stop by Mrs. Kelley's room and sign up for a time. Thanks.

There will be a golf meeting for any boys and girls wanting to go out for golf after school today at 3:45 in the student center. 

Lifetouch will be here April 6th to pictures of Junior High track, High School boys and girls track, and High School golf.

Boys soccer practice begins tonight at CAL. Take indoor shoes in case of weather. Practice should be over around 5:30.

The boys going to the high school track meet on Tuesday will be dismissed at the end of 5th period. Your bus leaves at 1:00.

Congratulations to the speech team on their outstanding performance at State Individual Events Speech Contest. The following students received Division I ratings from all three judges: Jane Roberts in Original Oratory, Maddie Mason in Original Oratory, and Mariah Smith in Improvisation. Division I ratings were also given to Mallory Sopher in Expository Address, Morgan Schlichting in Solo Musical Theatre, Eira Krabol in Acting, and Hailey Barrus in Acting and Prose. Division II ratings were given to Lizzie Nelson in Improvisation , Mallory Sopher in Prose, Stef Naranjo in Literacy Program, and Maddie Mason in Poetry.  

H track meeting on Thursday at 7:50 am in Mr. Bagley's room.  If you cannot make it, see Mr. Bagley or Mrs. Meints sometime that day. 

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's mission is to cure Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and Myeloma;  and inprove the quality of life for patients and their families.  The money raised from the pennies for patients contest help families of patients pay for medicines, the doctor or other treatment-related expenses, and funding research to find a cure.

SENIORS- the yearbook staff needs your baby pictures ASAP!!!

Congratulations to New Group on a successful weekend at the Emmetsburg Show Choir Extravaganza. The group placed 4th out of 8 groups in the 2A/ 1A category. A very successful competition season including their 3rd place finish at NIACC's Border Bash last weekend.

Musical Practice and set building will take place every night this week, except for Wednesday. See you there!

Attention Individual Events State Speech participants: Sign up to practice this week. Contest is this Saturday, March 12th. We are leaving at 6 am from the front parking lot. See Mrs. Bock to pick up your schedule.

There will be an FFA meeting on Wednesday, March 9th, at 7:15 am.

All FFA members need to bring an 11 X 13 pan of bars for Donkey Basketball on Thursday. Please have your bars at school by 4:30 pm.

On Thursday the Belmond-Klemme FFA is sponsoring a Donkey Basketball Game. BK FFA members will play one game against the CAL/ Hampton Tall Corn FFA chapter. Then the winner will play the FFA alumni members. So come join us for some great LAUGHS. Come early for supper, the BK FFA will be serving pork loin sandwiches, salad, chips, and a drink. Serving from 5- 7 pm. 

Reminder to high school students reading to the elementary--You are reading at the elementary on TUESDAY.  See the sheet outside the front office for a reminder on the time!  Also, please wear Bronco apparel on that day!  You will sign out in the office, go to the elementary front doors, and Darla will tell you where to go.  Teachers will have the books for you to read!  Please do not forget!

The National Honor Society will be raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through the "Pennies for Patients" Program. Starting TODAY and running through the month of March, there will be a competition between the 3rd period classes to see who can collect the most money per student. In the winning class, each student will receive a coupon for a free ice cream cone at the Belmond Drive-In. So start bringing in your change!

There will be a senior meeting on Tuesday, March 8th, during 2nd period in the student center. Please report to your 2nd period class for attendance and then report to the student center at 9:05.  

There will be an open house from 5:00 - 6:00 pm on Tuesday, March 8th, before the wrestling banquet to congratulate the 5 state wrestlers.

There are flyers in the office for Motorcycle Rider Safety Classes. NIACC will be offering classes in Garner and Hampton between April and August. Contact NIACC to register. 
 
The new open campus list is posted in the office. This is effective Tuesday. Juniors and Seniors make sure you check it!

Max Yield Agriculture $1,000 scholarship is due March 1st. At this point no one has applied. Please go to Mrs. Kozisek's web page for the link to the application.  
 
All juniors need to see Mrs. Kozisek during their study hall regarding next year. 
 
There is a sign-up sheet in the office for JH boys and girls track.  Please sign up if interested!
 
Boys basketball please turn in your uniform by this Thursday.
 
Girls High School track starts today after school. 
 
Attention Individual Events Speech Team members: See Mrs. Bock to PRACTICE and to pick up your parent letter for contest. We will leave at 6:45 am on Saturday, February 27th. 
 
The girls and boys basketball banquet is this Thursday at 6 pm in the student center.  Please bring a dish to share. 
 
Attention ALL JUNIORS: You need to sign up to work the Car Wash and Garage Sale on March 11th and 12th . The parents are not going to be doing your work. The sign up lists are posted outside Mrs. Blomme's door.

On Saturdays from 1:00 - 3:00 PM we will be having girls/ boys open gyms for soccer at CAL high school. If you have any questions please contact Scott Striegel at 641-579-6085.

There are forms in the office for a Little Bronco Volleyball Camp for girls in grades 3 - 8. The camp will run on Tuesdays and Saturdays in the month of March. You need to sign up by February 26th. 

Attention JUNIORS: Don't forget there will be a meeting Sunday at 4:00 pm in the student center to discuss prom fundraising. Please try to show up.

Coaches vs cancer Top of Iowa total is $49,791.38.  Our total at BK was just over $4000.  Great Job!!!!

Attention potential HS girls and boys soccer players - please see Mr. Parker today for important information

The Jr. High Spelling Bee was held Thursday morning with 19 students participating. The results are: 4th place- Dylan Bock, 3rd place- Jaydon Gansen, 2nd place- Alex Bartz, and the winner was Emily Simonson. Emily and Jaydon will participate in the North Iowa Area Spelling Bee in Clear Lake on April 24th with Alex going as an alternate. Then Emily will participate in the State Spelling Bee in Ames on March 12th.

There will be an NHS meeting on Monday, February 15th, during 2nd period in the LMC.
