Superintendent Message

Dear Bronco Families and Community Members,

As the calendar turns to April, there is a palpable sense of renewal and energy throughout the Belmond-Klemme School District. With the arrival of spring, we see our students blooming in their academic pursuits, on the athletic fields, and within the arts. It is a season of growth, and at BK, our focus remains steadfastly on providing the high-quality, evidence-based instruction that ensures every learner is empowered to reach their full potential.

Connecting Our Community
In our ongoing effort to foster a strong school-home partnership, I want to provide a friendly reminder regarding the recent enhancements to our district website.

We recognize that clear and transparent communication is the cornerstone of a healthy school community. Our digital "front door" has been redesigned with you in mind—to ensure that information is accessible, timely, and easy to navigate. Whether you are looking for school calendars, lunch menus, or celebrating the latest achievements of our students, the updated site is designed to be your primary resource for all things Bronco.

Why this matters:
  • Transparency: Keeping you informed about the initiatives that directly benefit our students.
  • Accessibility: Ensuring every family can find the support and resources they need quickly.
  • Connection: Highlighting the meaningful opportunities our students engage in every day.

Our mission is to empower our learners by supporting growth in a safe, caring community. This mission is only possible when we work hand-in-hand with you. We believe that by streamlining our digital communication, we are strengthening the collective responsibility we all share for our children’s success.

I encourage you to take a few moments to explore the site (www.bkcsd.org) and familiarize yourself with the new layout. Your feedback is always welcome as we continue to improve how we serve our families.

Thank you for your continued partnership and for being such a vital part of the Bronco family. As we head into the final stretch of the school year, let’s remain committed to our vision of preparing our students to be engaged, compassionate citizens.

Go Broncos!

ISASP Testing

Starting Monday, April 13, students at both the elementary and secondary levels will begin the annual Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Performance (ISASP). We have carefully integrated these assessments into our standard school day to maintain a sense of normalcy and ensure our Broncos feel comfortable and confident in their familiar learning environment.

These assessments are one way we measure how we are meeting our commitment to high-quality, evidence-based instruction. To help our students shine and reach their full potential, we invite you to partner with us in a few simple but impactful ways:
  • Restful Nights: Ensure your child gets plenty of sleep so they arrive feeling refreshed and ready to focus.
  • Fuel for the Day: A nutritious breakfast provides the brainpower needed for sustained concentration.
  • Encouragement: A quick word of confidence can go a long way in easing any testing jitters.
Our goal is always to put students first, creating a safe and caring environment where they can demonstrate what they know and can do. By working together, we ensure that every learner is prepared for success and empowered to contribute positively as engaged citizens.

Building Usage

At Belmond-Klemme, we believe that together, we make a difference by staying connected and organized. To ensure our families and students can easily find and attend the many wonderful events happening across our campus, we are transitioning all after-school activities to our central Bound calendar.

Moving forward, we ask that a facilities use form be submitted for any event held outside of regular school hours. This form can be found on our website under "Quick Links". This simple step allows us to provide a safe, well-managed environment for our learners and ensures our community calendar remains the reliable "go-to" resource for every Bronco family. By coordinating our efforts, we make it easier for every student to find the opportunities they need to grow and succeed.
