At Belmond-Klemme, we believe that good nutrition is essential for student learning, growth, and overall well-being. Our Food Service Department takes pride in preparing and serving high-quality, nutritious meals that fuel students for success in the classroom and beyond. Every meal is thoughtfully planned to include 100% whole grains, fresh fruits, and a variety of vegetables daily, ensuring students receive the nutrients they need to thrive.
We participate in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP), federally funded initiatives administered by the USDA. These programs are designed to make healthy meals accessible to all school-aged children. Schools that participate receive support through cash subsidies and USDA-provided foods for each reimbursable meal served. To qualify for reimbursement, every meal must meet strict Federal meal pattern standards, which promote balanced nutrition and healthy eating habits.
